Setting up email for End-users

October and some plugins may occasionally require the possibility to send emails.

You can change the settings for sending email in Settings -> Mail Configuration.

The following options are available:

• Log file (used for debugging)
• PHP mails (most simple implementation but likely to be seen as SPAM)
• Sendmail (simple implementation)
• SMTP (recommended for most users not using a 3rd-party mail service)
• Mailgun (users of mailgun.com service)
• Mandrill (users of mailchimp.com paid service)
• SES (users of Amazon Simple Email Service)
• SparkPost (users of sparkpost.com service)
